Based in Bolton, James Booth operates a modern fleet of articulated tipping vehicles throughout the UK.

We are specialists in the haulage of aggregates, clays, coal products and reclaimed materials; but are capable of transporting any material that can be carried in bulk.

QUARRYING

James Booth are quarry owners and extract the finest quality blue shale, sandstone, fill material and rockery stone from our site in Harwood.

Blue shale is used in the manufacture of bricks, and our customers include national companies such as Ibstock Building Products, Chelwood Brick and Hanson's.

 

 

Our stone fill material is employed in a wide variety of different engineering and construction projects, which recently included Bolton's prestigious Reebok stadium. James Booth are also suppliers of fine-screened ash, both to the general public and industry.

Details and prices of the various materials produced at Harwood Quarry are available to interested parties upon request.

All products can either be collected from site (by prior arrangement), or delivered anywhere within the UK, at highly competitive rates.

The electronic weighbridge on site is also available at short notice as a 'check weight' facility up to 44 tonnes as required.

ROAD SALT

James Booth is a prime mover of rock salt for The De-icing Business (formerly known as Salt Union), and is entrusted with delivering the salt to depots within Greater Manchester.

Moreover, we are recognised merchants both to industry and to the general public. We are capable of supplying any quantity of salt, from a single 25Kg bag, up to and including full artic loads.

Small quantities of salt can always be collected from our premises on Manchester Road in Bolton if desired.

 

COMMERCIAL VEHICLE REPAIR

James Booth has a fully fitted workshop equipped with a digital roller brake-tester, tyre vulcanising equipment, headlight aligner and a computerised emissions analyser.

Our technicians have expertise in a wide variety of vehicles and are always on hand to give advice and provide help.

As commercial vehicle operators ourselves we are highly aware of the pressures hauliers face. Our service reflects that understanding.

From a single light van to fleets of HGV's and PSV's, James Booth can cater to your individual maintenance needs.

 

FUEL RETAILING

James Booth has computer controlled, underground fuel bunkering facility. From the site in Bolton we are able to offer highly competitive prices for both 'Red' and, Normal diesel grades to other businesses.

In addition to supplying diesel, we are able to present information reports for our customers as a cost saving feature. This allows them to accurately monitor their monthly, weekly or even daily fuel usage on each individual vehicle.
